Tower of Babel

Instead of going climbing, yesterday I took a Brazilian friend to eat a Pekin Crispy Duck in China Town.

Yesterday I messed up with my template & almost lost everything. Thankfully it's all sorted now & I feel I'm ready to expose this blog. Ready to receive comments from my readers!

Yesterday I went climbing for the first time in over a month. Did rather well considering, but today I feel like I was run over by a truck. Still I’ll go again tonight!

Less then 24 hours and this blog's name has changed... already!

Though I like the “The Hanging Gardens of BabylonI’m not entirely convinced yet. Patropi is my old nickname & I love it. It means PAis TROPIcal – Tropical Country. Coisa de Patropi is an expression & means more or less “Typical of Patropi” . I’m sure I’ll change it a lot still but it’s a start!

I usually listen to the radio at work, but today I had to start with a CD from my favorite singer of all times, Ilka Vilardo, She’s playing in Town (Rio) tonight & I wish I was there, to see her live, but instead I contemplate her CD.

Have a nice day!

I guess it's weird to be back. I still haven’t settled to my lovely old lifestyle, some of which I wasn’t allowed due to my eyes op. Feels like I've done lots but achieved nothing outstanding. Last week I went to pubs with workmates on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, to celebrate the beginning of the summer. I drank a total of 10 bottles of Smirnoff Ice. That on it’s own is a lot for me, let alone drinking on a weekday before cycling home. Am I turning English??? Not so fast, I guess, considering on Saturday we went out & all I drank was sparkling water. Is it just because I was driving or I simply cannot cope? Maybe I still have personality.

Sunday shopping… or rather – browsing – was cool! I cannot believe I managed not to buy a single item, this is certainly an achievement!

Anyway, I hope this week I will be going climbing and swimming. I miss that, you know?
I was on my way back from driving my husband & I thought I of a name to this blog. Thought of the “The Hanging Gardens of Babylon” because of a Brazilian Song I really like and besides we speak 6 languages between us, so I though I’d make a little joke about that!

I'm back from a long visit to my hometown, Rio de Janeiro, where I took 3 guests. We went swimming, hiking, climbing… I ended up rescuing one of them who had broken a leg in the Sugar Loaf & also went ahead with my scheduled eye op. Yes I did my laser eye op. Yes, yes, I did it, so now I can see!

Back from my rather busy time off & feeling the need for some holidays, I find I have to rescue my beloved husband, who had gone for a weekend skiing and ended up having an op to place metal pins on his broken collarbone.

Now I have to carry shopping bags, replace light bulbs, drive him around &  people still demanding from me at work…

I need a holiday!!!

Gosh, what a way to start a new blog.

I’m off shopping with my girlfriends now. Thanks for reading.

C ya!
